Time to eau de update. Officially. That slow sultry heat can make your signature scent smell strangely intense, somehow wrong, confirms Australian fragrance evaluator Rosie Lever.
“Since it’s warmer and more humid, some of the ingredients in your perfume have their evaporation rates alter drastically – this can change the way your nose receives the overall scent,” says Lever. Translation – scientific justification to go shopping for a new summer fragrance, says Tracey Withers.
Switch sexy for sensual
Radiating off your pulse points like steam after a rainstorm; just add heat and a heady fragrance can turn headachy pretty fast. The voluptuous resins, flowers and vanillas of that knockout oriental elixir can feel heavy and sticky. Slip into something softer, with sweet spices, nectars and sheer floral notes that temper the tone – a “floriental”. It’s still sultry, with an exotic wiggle in its hips, just with a flirtier wink to lighten the mood.
