I am staying at the most fabulous hotel in Beijing– the ultra-cool Hotel G. What can I say? I get to set the colours of my room windows so at night they all light up from the outside in different neon colours! I love it!

I went to the Beijing Ray-Ban Remasters Event last night! It was a super chilly -1°C degrees as I got ready - so of course I stepped out in my highest heels and fully sequinned mini dress. What could be more appropriate!?

I was so excited – playing at the party were super cool bands The Young Knives and The Kills – and a Chinese fave, the New Pants.

We pulled up outside a dark, high-walled compound. At first through our lack of Chinese and our driver’s lack of English, we thought our taxi was leaving us stranded, but lo and behold we came across huge red and white projections of Ray-Ban on the walls. We had arrived!

The red carpet was packed with rock’n’roll clad Beijing cool kids. Their uniform? Skinny black jeans, leather jackets and Ray-Ban frames – those fabulous geek chic opticals were everywhere!

We skipped the line and went through a side entrance in the compound wall – a huge historical building lit up with Ray-Ban logos. Inside the media wall was covered in actual Clubmaster frames – photo op!

The Young Knives played as we arrived – and the people-watching factor was fabulous! There was a full on Elvis-looking guy with the “do” and a leopard-trimmed blazer leading around his fabulous girlfriend in her cherry-print dress and beehive hair. There was a full on Run DMC lookalike in an oversized tracksuit with a giant gold bling chain with a huge clock hanging off it and an over-sized cap worn backwards. You name it – I saw it there!

The Kills came on – and I was looking left, right and centre hoping to see if Jamie Hince –the male half of The Kills – had brought his super-fabulous girlfriend Kate Moss! Alas she did not surface. However - my new revelation – I am IN LOVE with The Kills – Alison Mosshart was ridiculously cool in her leopard-print cardigan and rock’n’roll tee – and she’s a huge fan of our own sass & bide – that says it all really!

Super-cool party, super-cool sunnies and a super-cool city. Bring me back to Beijing any day! And that is my Ray-Ban round-up!
