With Rosemount Australian Fashion Week now in full swing, Grazia's online producer, Amanda Spackman, caught up with some of this year's most coveted designers to get the low-down on what's hot for spring/summer 09-10.
Leading Australian designer Kate Sylvester tells how she's mixed Christo with couture for her latest collection.
What's inspired your spring-summer 2009-10 collection?
Take a Hike is inspired by the glamorous, intrepid female explorers who refuse to believe that a love of nature needs to compromise one's love of fashion by exploring Africa dressed in couture and the landscape sculpture of Christo.
What's the coolest item in the collection?
Our bra and rompers made in hessian.
Which two pieces do you think will sell-out the quickest?
The Christo elasticised dress and our sheer raspberry party frock.
Describe a day in your life in one sentence.
I play dress-ups.
What tracks will be played at your show?
Rollicking hiking songs, including Arcade Fire, Vampire Weekend and Belle and Sebastian.
What are you doing after it's all over? What are your post-Fashion Week plans?
Going home to New Zealand to spend time with my beautiful boys.
What's been your most recession-proof purchase? Something that has stood the test of time.
Silver Lanvin slingbacks. Glamour is definitely recession proof.
What's your best survival secret to getting through Fashion Week?
Rescue Remedy I scull it.

Wanting another girls white socks with lace around the top so bad I couldn't breathe.
